letters to the blindmen - 1994

dial tone night

it's a dial tone night and i'm lying on a slow tainted river backpaddlin through the waters of my mind and above the bog and the nine-eyed catfish you're there like a silver willow branch floating on the surface tossed from the banks of a careless man's past since the day we lost sight in a selfish eclipse there has been a flood of time under the bridge but the water of feeling has not flowed an inch and love to this river of stagnant dreams and desires like the lorelei i will lure you to drown and die in the sweetest ecstasy i promise you this death my dearest in the sweetest ecstasy of my own regret
